New cabinet in situ

I've put the cabinet in place on the back wall so that when it's full of things they will be seen....

There's not alot of space in this kitchen (just as there wouldn't have been in real life) and  I need room for the oven door to be able to open...

Just not quite room for it to be in the middle of the wall

Might have to move nearer the door....

A 'new addition' in the kitchen

The kitchen now benefits from a new cabinet made up from a Jane Harrop kit. I was a little daunted when I saw all the tiny pieces in the packet but I'm really pleased the way it has gone together. I remember one of these when I was a little girl in the 50s - ours was painted red and cream!

A new but 'old' kitchen table!

I've had this kitchen table in situ for quite some time and I knew that I would need to 'do' something with it to make it look right.....

It began life as a basic, white table. it now has a 'Formica' top and suffered from abit of ageing!

The gentleman of the house has just had his dinner and lady wife is about to begin baking...

 

 

 

Hallway Dresser

They say it's 'all in the detail' well in the dollshouse it certainly is!

The little dresser in the hallway needed 'dressing up' so I spent an enjoyable afternoon adding lots of photos and other paraphernalia.....

I scanned, resized and printed old family photos and put them into tiny frames.,

On the top shelf, left, is my Dad, then on the right my Mum and Dad on their wedding day. My brother and I are together on the middle shelf then there's a 'mini me' to the right!

 

 

The roof dilemma

Mountfield roof is a bit of a nightmare. All the time it's been built I've pondered over what to do about it...because there is a large loft void it has been tempting to make another room up there but because the only access is by way of a loft ladder I've decided to abandon that idea....All the while I've been deciding the roof panel (access to roof space) has been falling in and as a result the 'tiling' has been getting ruined hence I've made the decision to glue the whole roof together and forget about the 'room at the top' and give it over to

The spiders and the 'miniaturist imagination'.......

So ridge tiles are now on and we now have a chimney stack and pots too! 

 

 

Stair Rods and light switches

Decided it was high time I fixed the stair rods in position.....I've used wooden ones which I remember from when I was a little girl.....

Also put in one or two light switches.

 

 

And then there was light!

Oh dear it's a long time since I updated! BUT I have moved house (big house that is) so there has been lots to do and much of my spare energy and time has been directed into the 'real world'....
Anyway I have managed to put lights in and here are a few pictures....
